The Transition and Recovery (TR) Pillar of the Somalia Country Office plays a leading role in stabilisation strategy and delivery throughout Somalia. The Community Stabilisation programme is central to the United Nations (UN) Country Team’s plans for transition and closure of the UN’s political mission in Somalia. The main objective of the unit is to lead coordinated stabilisation efforts across the international community, aligned with the core objectives of the Government of Somalia.
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub-Office in Nairobi/Senior Programme Coordinator (Transition & Recovery Pillar) and the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Coordinator (Community Stabilisation), and in close coordination with the Regional Thematic Specialist (RTS) at the Regional Office (RO) for Eastern and Southern Africa in Nairobi and relevant Divisions/Departments/Units at Headquarters (HQ), the Programme Manager (Community Stabilisation) will be responsible and accountable for managing, coordinating and overseeing the activities of the European Union flagship stabilisation project: Strengthening the Social Contract through Socio-Economic Infrastructure (2026-2029), and its integration with the FCDO flagship project: Strengthening Community Security and Stabilisation
