Senior DevOps Engineer - Repository Migration (Freelance, Remote)

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer / Artifact Repository Migration Consultant to support an international enterprise in migrating its existing software artifact repository to a modern, managed solution. The consultant will take ownership of the technical implementation, from requirements analysis and solution evaluation through migration, CI/CD integration, and decommissioning of the existing infrastructure. Project Details Start: November 1, 2026 (planned) Duration: January 31, 2027 Workload: Full-time Location: 100% Remote - Europe-based candidates only Contract: Freelance Language: English Working Hours: Central European business hours Tasks Analyze the existing Sonatype Nexus repository environment, including repositories, artifact formats, dependencies, and usage patterns. Assess migration requirements and identify artifacts to be migrated, regenerated, or retired. Define technical and security requirements for the future artifact repository solution. Evaluate managed/SaaS repository solutions, conduct proof-of-concept assessments, and recommend a suitable target architecture. Configure and implement the selected solution, including authentication, permissions, retention policies, and proxy/mirror functionality. Execute artifact migration and validate data integrity, checksums, and artifact accessibility. Reconfigure CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling, prepare technical documentation, and support the transition. Decommission the legacy repository enviro
