NTD Project Officer
Salary: Local terms and conditions apply

Contract: 12-month Fixed-term Contract
Hours: 35 hours per week - Standard office hours

We are looking for an experienced Project Officer with excellent partner management skills and experience of Digital Health, to support the continued success of Neglected Tropical Disease projects in Benin, in collaboration with The Reaching the Last Mile Funds (RLMF) and several other donors.

In Benin, Sightsavers has successfully supported the elimination of trachoma in 2022. However, Benin like many other Sub-Saharan African countries is endemic to several NTD and in line with the WHO roadmap, the country ambition to eliminate most NTDs by 2030. Sightsavers is supporting Benin for the elimination of onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis with the ambition of growing the portfolio to include schistosomiasis and soil transmitted helminth.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, talented and enthusiastic programme officer to play a crucial part in impactful change. You will utilise your capacity building and partner relationship skills to assist in the digitalisation of projects, and to build strong relationships with partners, other INGOs and Government organisations.

  • Financial Management
  • Advocacy

Skills and Experience

The Programme Officer will be a highly skilled professional with a strong background in planning, monitoring, and coordination. They will assist staff seconded to government to manage the effective implementation of planned activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and coordinating review and feedback from technical teams.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Exceptional experience in a similar role
  • Extensive experience collaborating with partners, government officials, multilateral organisations - with demonstrable relationship building ability and excellent communication
  • Capacity building experience – assisting and working closely with partner organisations
  • GIS Spatial analysis
  • Excellent Digital Health experience and capacity building of partners in this area
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills, including effective communication of results through data visualization to audiences of varying technical backgrounds
  • Knowledge of neglected tropical diseases, disease elimination, digital health, and/or other major global infectious disease problems
  • Experience in strategy development, planning, and project implementation
  • Demonstrated analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in unstructured settings and to adapt to new environments and challenges
  • Experience in research project management

Desirable

  • Experience within a safeguarding role
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field
