Senior Search Engineer

What You’ll Do Build and improve search across multiple entity types. Work on geospatial search, indexing, query planning, retrieval, and ranking. Design metrics and feedback loops for search quality. Run offline evaluations and production experiments. Tune results using relevance, popularity, personalization, and contextual signals. Explore semantic or embedding-based search where useful. Work closely with backend and product teams to ship search improvements. Must Have Senior-level experience building production search systems. Strong understanding of indexing, query planning, retrieval, and ranking. Experience with geospatial search. Experience with search quality metrics, experimentation, and feedback loops. Experience evaluating, tuning, extending, or building search/indexing systems beyond basic API usage. Strong backend engineering fundamentals. Ability to reason about latency, relevance, correctness, and scale. Nice To Have Experience with local search, maps, discovery, or multi-entity search systems. Experience with semantic search, embeddings, ranking, recommendations, or personalization. Experience with Rust search/indexing systems or similar low-level indexing primitives. Experience building search systems over multiple heterogeneous entity types.
